about us

Hi there, thanks for checking us out!

We started h.o.f.n.a.r back in 2003, principally as a way for us to get to the snow on the cheap! Since then things have gone from strength to strength, more than 70% of our guests come back time and again on holiday with us and now we have a summer schedule which includes trips to the South of France and Italy.

On top of this our UK breaks and days out are getting bigger and better every year and we run corporate days and private parties – from team building to stag and hen events. Get in touch!

Meet the team:

Daniel

Head h.o.f.

The founder of the company, Dan set up h.o.f.n.a.r mainly so he could spend half the year skiing and avoid getting a proper job. He has been described by the Guardian newspaper as an “ebullient, overgrown schoolboy”, which he wasn’t massively pleased about but everyone else agrees is an accurate description. Dan hosts most of the trips.

Stuff he likes: telling bad jokes and rosé wine (don’t tell anyone!)

Sam

h.o.f.n.a.r host

The newest member to the team – not only does he knock up an awesome poached egg he is annoyingly good on a snowboard. Sam’s around all season so make sure you get him to take you to the Happy Valley, The Field of Dreams…and then perhaps go snowboarding…

Stuff he likes: Speaking snowboarder stylee and rodents

Em

h.o.f.n.a.r office and occasional chalet girl

More likely to be found making snow angels than doing the downhill speed trial, Em is a recent skiing convert. She hasn’t progressed to black runs yet but this is the season she will. (She has been saying that for a while now.)

Stuff she likes: huskies, stopping for lunch, good punctuation

Joel

brainy h.o.f

Joel is a marketing whizz and takes care of a lot of the behind the scenes shenanigans that brings the h.o.f.n.a.r magic to life. A keen rugby player and cricketer, Joel is still new to snowboarding and with bruises to show for it!

Stuff he likes: playing with funny shaped balls

Amazing Craig

h.o.f.n.a.r host

An awesome skiier (better than the rest of us), if Craig happens to be hosting your trip, pick his considerable snowy brains for all the best places to go. He’ll even take you out for the day if you ask him nicely. And he can cook. Not for nothing is he known as “Amazing Craig”.

Stuff he likes: beavers

Super Sue

h.o.f.n.a.r host

She’s generally an all round amazing person

Stuff she likes: snowboarding and boys
