Whether you are coming on your own, as a couple or with friends, the H.O.F.N.A.R. experience offers laid back skiing and boarding trips to the French Alps, that will suit you.

These great value for money holidays, cater for all abilities. If you've never done it before you are more than welcome on any of our week long programmes, but we have 2 trips set aside, just for you, where everyone will be in the same boat.....

We stay in a top chalet in the centre of Morzine, part of one of the best ski areas in the world......

..........the Portes du Soleil.

We've been coming to Morzine, in the French Alps for the last 6 years now. It's a fantastic resort and with Avoriaz close by, has a great snow record. The Portes du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the world and has something for everyone, from lots of super cool jump parks, to wide open easy blue runs, from the frighteningly steep 'Swiss Wall' to gentle pistes through the trees.

Groups are not more than 16 in size, there are no kids and most are 20 and 30somethings.

Come on your own, as a couple or with friends. All are welcome, beginner or expert. Sometimes we ride out together, sometimes we meet for lunch or maybe you'll just disappear off and do your own thing. It's different every time and you can do as much, or as little as you wish. It's your holiday!

We stay in a really nice chalet, right in the centre of town. Minutes from the lifts and minutes from the bars!!

Beginners only Trips
Private Trips

These are real laid back holidays, we call them 'semi-catered.' You'll get a fine continental breakfast every morning including cereals, fruit, porridge etc. and one morning you'll get a full English! There will be enough bread etc available in the morning so that if you wish to make yourself a sandwich to take up the mountain you can.

In the evenings, we'll go to local restaurants first and last nights and for the rest of the time we'll knock something up in the chalet and split the costs. This often works out at about €5 - €7 including wine. It's not B&B, it's not fully catered.......it's semi-catered!!

Who goes on these trips?

The small groups are usually, but not exclusively, 20 & 30somethings (Not the idiots you find 'largin' it on the Costa del whatever....the rest of us). There are no kids and we seem to attract laid back and fairly like minded active people of all abilities.

Many come along on their own, some with partners or just with friends. Usually there is a good mixture of Brits, Antipodeans and Europeans, both male and female.

People come from all walks of life, independent travelers, young professionals, 'flashpackers' and students.

The Aprés ski

Morzine has a great night life, centred around 4 or 5 bars. Live bands, pool, air hockey, babbyfoot, some pretty shocking dancing and the odd glass of vin chaud make for some wicked nights out.

There's no real pressure to go out, so if you want to stay in, watch a movie, play scrabble, read a book....you can.

However.......

If you can handle it, the Opera and the Paradis nightclubs go until 5am. . . . will you be dancing in the cages, strutting your stuff on the podium and still be up for first tracks in the morning?!?

Where do we stay?

We take the ground floor of a really comfortable 4* chalet called "Les Armaillis." You will need to share a room, but the worst it might be is a room of four. There are 2 double rooms and a twin room. These are allocated on a first come, first served basis and you pay a little extra for the privilege!

The chalet has an enormous sofa, large dining area and even a sauna to ease your aching muscles! The chalet is 'wi-fi', so if you feel the urge, bring your lap top and surf away!

We are really centrally located and are less than 2 minutes from the Super - Morzine ski lift, and about 3 minutes from the shops and bars in the 'centre ville.'

These trips are 'semi-catered'. Breakfast is included and there is enough bread available if you wish to take a pack lunch out with you. Most nights we cook something up in the chalet and split the costs, often working out less than €8 each! If the weather is good (particularly in March) we get the BBQ fired up and cook out in the garden. We tend to eat out first and last nights, but each time we go it's different. Fondue anyone?

- Ski / Snow board Hire

There are 2 types. The local area pass - aprox. £140, The entire Portes du Soleil - aprox. £175.

This can be booked and paid for in advance, so the pass will be waiting for you on arrival. If you are a beginner, it may be better to buy your pass day by day, depending on how quickly you advance.

We head off into the mountains and try and be James Bond. Guided by just the headlight we chase down those bad guys in the snowy forest.....

SLEDGING IN THE BLACK (aprox. £20)

After all the skiers and boarders have gone home, darkness falls and we head up the mountain only to come back down again in the pitch black, with just a head torch, on the slopes, on sledges........it's carnage!

Not had enough skiing / boarding? Every Thursday night the Pléney slope is lit up and the lifts are included in your lift pass.
