Friday 25 May -> Monday 28th May
This AWESOME long weekend away is perfect whether you are looking to learn to surf, or are already a pro surfer.
This trip is especially designed so that you don’t need to take any holiday days from work and you can still completely escape the rat race and let your hair down in a truly beautiful part of the world with some excellent people.
We run these trips with the help of the ridiculously good bunch of guys and gals at KingSurf surf school.
AND whilst we are there this weekend an awesome little festival called Chill at the Mill is on and your ticket price with us includes entry to the festival
We head to a little place called Mawgan Porth which is just north of Newquay in Cornwall. It is famous in the area for having a safe beach with consistently good waves – perfect for those learning to surf and still challenging enough for those looking to master the waves.
We stay on a cracking little campsite called Rettorick Mill and you get the option to camp or to stay in a ‘chalet bungalow’ (extra charge) – the facilities are fairly basic, but there is a bar and we can bbq and just chill right out.
The Chill at the Mill festival is SO good. Not more than a thousand people make this festival intimate & fun. The bands are always amazing and a bit different to the normal almost ‘bog standard’ festival line up. The food, the people, the music… oh and the surfing make this weekend truly magical.
You can join us in the hofnar minibus from London or make your own way down there (fly to Newquay or drive) – if you make your own way, take £60 off the prices quoted.
…With bonfires, live music, barbecues, surfing and gallons of Cheddar Valley cider – this is set to be the BEST surfing weekend of the year!!
Friday 6pm Climb aboard the h.o.f.n.a.r minibus at Hammersmith for the 5.5hr drive down to Mawgan Porth.
Saturday: Breakfast cooked up by your hofnar rep before joining the gang from Kingsurf for your intro to surfing! Spend the afternoon honing your skills, chilling by the beach OR grab your helmet and let’s go coasteering! In the late afternoon / evening let’s head back to the campsite and get stuck into the festival…. fancy dress…?
Sunday: Pretty similar to Saturday – after breakfast we are back in the water and again in the afternoon we could do anything… fancy a stroll along the dramatic cliffs? Afternoon tea at the National Trust tea room? Cheeky beers in the pub garden? Fish ‘n Chips..? In the evening it’s the final night of the festival. EPIC.
Monday: After breakfast – we head back to the water and we’ll definitely stand up on that board today…definitely? Maybe even riding that tube? Definitely hitting green waves and maybe starting to turn a bit… Leave in the afternoon to be back in London for 10 pm ish
