Learn to paraglide holidays Great value for money learn to paraglide holidays to Morzine in the French Alps. Small groups, no kids, come on your own, as a couple or with friends!! Ideal for the single traveller or solo traveller. |
Learn to Paraglide Paragliding is about as close as man (or woman!) gets to flying like a bird. It's not an extreme sport, it's just a truly awesome thing to do. Flying alone for the first time is a remarkable and unforgettable experience. If you are doing that in the spectacular French Alps, then the experience becomes even more magical. The 5 day course happens over 5 mornings and takes you to the FFVL (French Free Flight Association) level 1, the first stage to becoming a fully fledged (or winged) pilot of parapente (French for paragliding!) The instructors are all English speaking and have a wonderful laid back disposition that makes learning to fly a real pleasure. After the morning's lessons, the afternoons are yours to do as you wish. Your HOFNAR host is around to make sure you'll get the most out of your stay, so if you want to find more extreme things to do, you can. If you want to just hang out by the lake or in a deckchair, you can......it's your holiday! |

Who comes on these trips? Each time we go, the group is different. On the summer trips there are not usually more than 9 people, most travel on their own. Our guests are usually 20, 30 and 40somethings (not the idiots on the costa del whatever, the rest of us!) and a good mixture of Brits, Antipodeans and Europeans, both male and female. You should be fairly fit, but you don't have to be a super dooper gym bunny or anything. You will be running up and down the training slopes, so be prepared for a little physical activity! Come on your own, or with friends. There are no kids! |

Typical Itinerary Day1: The HOFNAR rep will meet you and the group at Geneva airport at 2pm (TBC) and then drive everyone up to the resort (about 90 minutes) in a minibus. We'll probably head out to a local restaurant for 'wood-fired' pizza in the evening, followed by a visit to a few of the local hostelries. Day2: An easy day to settle into mountain life. If you want to do your own thing, that's absolutely fine. Otherwise, your host is on hand to take the group biking, or hiking, swimming, climbing, or tobogganing or....well anything really. Day3, 4, 5, 6, 7: Paragliding lessons happen every morning. There is some theory, but everything happens at a pretty gentle, laid back pace. Much of your time will be spent in the nursery meadow. Here, you will get used to your equipment. You'll, in the beginning, be making gentle hops across the field. We hope, that in most cases, you'll fly solo around day 4 under the guidance of your instructors and then on day 6 fly completely free from 600metres above Morzine town!! Each afternoon, you are free to do as you wish. However, your host will be on hand should you wish to get involved of the many activities going on in and around Morzine.....hanging out at the lake, rambling, bbq-ing Day 8: Transfer back to Geneva airport to be there at 10am (TBC) |
